Position: Human Resources Generalist III

Duration: 12 Months
Hybrid position: 4 days onsite/ 1 day remote each week. The hours are 7:30-4:30
Major Purpose:
The Workforce and Community Giving Coordinator supports various Human Resources processes at the unit/site. This position serves as an experienced HR professional focusing on analysis and assisting managers and employees in resolving HR-related issues. The role requires independent judgment based on education and experience and supports key HR areas, such as employee relations, staffing, training and development, legal compliance, and community outreach.
There are 2 main parts to this position: Military Outreach Coordinator and Workforce Development/Community Giving Coordinator
Major Duties:
- Assist and support managers and employees in resolving HR issues.
- Contribute to HR processes in areas such as employee relations, strategic planning, compensation, staffing, training, safety, legal compliance, and communications.
- Provide advice on interpreting HR policies and procedures.
- Analyze data and information for informed decision-making.
- Coordinate and deliver training courses using internal and external resources.
- Lead and/or participate in projects that align with HR strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and manage the military outreach program and hiring process.
- Track candidate status using SharePoint.
- Provide monthly updates on military hiring.
- Enhance key steps in the military hiring process.
- Present quarterly updates to the team.
- Maintain relationships with military VSO partners.
- Coordinate company participation in military career fairs.
- Track program participation and results using SharePoint and Power BI.
- Provide annual updates and assist in outreach efforts.
- Conduct initial grant reviews and assign applications by community.
- Follow up with JD reviewers to ensure timely completion.
- Generate and distribute status and results reports.
- Collaborate with site coordinators and grant reviewers to match John Deere mentors with FIRST teams.
- Develop and distribute reports on the status and results of mentor assignments.
- Assist in planning and supporting community engagement initiatives related to youth and workforce development.
Skill Set Requirements:
- Proficiency or willingness to learn Power BI and Excel.
- Strong project management fundamentals and planning skills.
- Ability to identify and address recurring issues to improve efficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication abilities.
